if you had your choice of hickory or ash for a kubb set what would you choose and why?

if you had your choice of hickory or ash for a kubb set what would you choose and why?   Thease are the two woods I have to use and cant choose thanks

Personally, I would go for the lighter of the two as I'm not a fan of the heavier kubb sets.  Both should be very durable.  

Looking at the density charts for the wood, a black ash would be closer to poplar weight than white ash, but white ash and hickory are very similar.

If those were the two options, I would choose Ash as it is closer in weight to poplar. Since most tournaments are using poplar, I'd want to throw something similar in weight.



Poplar, while not included on this chart, works out to 26.21 lbs/cu.ft
