When tossing the batons close to corner of the pitch is it possible to do it keeping just one foot within the extended lateral line or both feet must be within?

Both feet must be in bounds any time you throw either a baton or a kubb.

Actually, I am certain it is possible if you lay one foot on the line to "hover" the other out of bounds, you simply cannot step out bounds, but in the air should be acceptable

Your momentum can't carry you out of bounds.  So, as long as your foot doesn't touch, then you are ok.
